Pilates
Pilates and dance go hand in hand. Joesph Pilates was a boxer and gymnast who developed his own system of exercise to better develop his own physical limitations. A man ahead of his time, his method caught on when he emigrated to the United States and began working with many dancers in both New York City Ballet and the Martha Graham Dance Company.
Pilates gives dancers the functional strength to move efficiently and safely with reduced risk of injury.
After rehabiliting a knee injury, Chris went on to train as a Pilates instructor through Polestar Pilates. He is currently a PMA-CPT® and Mentor Teacher for Polestar. A self proclaimed movement nerd, Chris hopes to share his love of movement with you, dancer or not.
